Overview

The Everest Three Passes Trek is a challenging high-altitude adventure that takes you through the heart of the Khumbu region, crossing three iconic passes: Kongma La (5,535m), Cho La (5,420m), and Renjo La (5,340m). Designed for seasoned trekkers, this route offers unmatched views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Ama Dablam, while immersing you in Sherpa culture.

The three passes trek offers the incredible view of four of the world’s highest peaks: Cho-Oyu (8,201m), Makalu (8,463m), Lhotse (8,516 m), Everest (8,848m), and several other 7000 and 6000-meter mountains.

The trek begins with Kongma La, the first pass and often the toughest. It involves a steep climb and descent, testing your stamina right away. But the effort pays off with beautiful views of mountains like Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Nuptse stretching across the horizon. Next comes Cho La, where you’ll cross a glacier and take in the beauty of the Gokyo Valley and the mighty Cho Oyu. Finally, Renjo La wraps up the journey with a rewarding sight of Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu, plus the peaceful Gokyo Lakes. Each pass brings its own challenges and unforgettable rewards.

What sets the Everest Three Pass Trek apart is more than just the passes—it’s the full experience. You’ll pass through remote Sherpa villages, visit ancient monasteries, and feel the warm welcome of the local people. Completing all three passes builds resilience and offers a profound connection to the Himalayas, making this trek truly special.

Note

The Lukla flight may have an impact on your entire plan. Due to increased air traffic in Kathmandu during peak seasons, the service will operate from Manthali Airport, Ramechhap district. However, flights are operated from Kathmandu in the nonpeak seasons. Flights can be delayed because of the bad weather, crowded traffic, unmanaged runway, and topographical challenges. Hence, it is recommended to arrange an additional 1-2 days to avoid the stress of flight delays when trekking in the Everest region. Also, we offer helicopter flight service directly from Kathmandu to Lukla for an additional fee of USD 500 per person (on a five-person sharing basis), thus avoiding the long drive to Manthali airport during peak seasons.
