Imagine standing hand-in-hand with your soulmate, wearing a traditional Sherpa wedding attire, with a prayer flag fluttering in the mountain air, and exchanging vows with the world’s highest peaks as your witness. Alpine Journeys Treks proudly introduces “Wedding in the Himalaya.” This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate your love in the most majestic place.
This trek is a blend of luxury trekking with the romance of iconic Sherpa style wedding ceremony at the base camp of your choice: the iconic Everest Base Camp (5,364m), the serene Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), the remote Makalu Base Camp (4,870m) or the culturally rich Manaslu Base Camp (4,800m). We create a personalized wedding experience that honors both your relationship and the sacred mountains of Nepal.
The Himalayas aren’t just a mountain, they are a symbol of endurance, strength, and timeless beauty. What better metaphor exists for a successful marriage? By choosing a wedding in the Himalaya, you are not just selecting a beautiful venue, you’re also embracing values that will serve your partnership lifelong.

Your wedding in the Himalayas of Nepal will be based on traditional Sherpa style. We will ensure these traditions are respectfully incorporated along with any personal requirements you wish to include. You can expect the following in your wedding ceremony.
Traditional Dress: Both the bride and groom will be provided with their custom-made Sherpa traditional dress set. The bride wears a “Bakhu” with turquoise and coral jewelry, while the groom wears a “Tetung” and “Chewa” along with a hat.
Blessings from Lama: There will be a Lama (Monk) conducting the centuries-old rituals to bless your union, including the tying of Khata (a traditional ceremonial scarf).
Chang Ceremony: The bride and groom will share the Chang, a traditional millet beer, with their guests, symbolizing hospitality and compassion.
Traditional Music and Dance: The celebration will be done by singing and dancing, after the wedding ceremony.
Spring (March-May): Rhododendrons and other wildflowers bloom throughout lower elevations, creating colorful natural decoration throughout the trek. Mornings are clear, offering spectacular mountain views, though in the afternoon, clouds can develop with rain.
Autumn (September-November): It is the post-monsoon period of Nepal, bringing stable weather with clear skies and breathtaking visibility. The comfortable temperatures and dry conditions make this a popular choice for both trekking and weddings.
