Phurba Sherpa first met Nikolay and his friends during the Annapurna Circuit Trek. That initial encounter marked the start of a wonderful friendship rooted in a shared passion for adventure and the great outdoors. Later, Nikolay returned with his friends for the Everest Base Camp (EBC) and Chola Pass trek. Phurba fondly recalls how guiding them through the rugged paths and awe-inspiring landscapes of the Himalayas was a joyous experience. Their respectful and enthusiastic approach left a lasting impression on everyone involved.
Soon after, Mrs. Ekaterina Shcherbinina joined Nikolay sir on another adventure to Nepal. Driven by genuine curiosity and a deep hunger to explore the Nepal Himalayas, Ekaterina mam quickly became a beloved figure among our team. Together, they trekked on the Langtang-Gosaikunda trek—a journey that showcased not only the scenic wonders of Nepal but also the warmth and spirit of camaraderie that defines our trekking family.
The adventures didn’t stop there. Most recently, Nikolay, Ekaterina, and their family members took on one of Nepal’s most beautiful and challenging treks: the Kanchanjunga Base Camp trek. This isolated yet breathtaking expedition was a true testament to their resilience and passion for exploration. Throughout this trek, their enthusiasm and friendly nature illuminated every step of the journey, making even the toughest moments feel like a shared celebration of life and nature.
They are happy people who find joy in every corner of nature, and their friendly aura naturally invites conversation and connection. Whether it’s sharing tips on trekking routes or simply enjoying a quiet moment under the vast Himalayan sky, they have a unique way of making everyone feel included and appreciated. They have always stepped forward with kindness and encouragement, embodying the true spirit of mentorship and international friendship.
Today, as we continue to explore the stunning landscapes of Nepal, we look back with gratitude on the meaningful contributions of Nikolay Portnyagin and Ekaterina Shcherbinina.
